A combination of rugged winter weather, spectacular coastal scenery, and an abundance of waterfowl makes Maine a hunter's paradise. We sea duck hunt from ledges and lay-out boats using the best equipment available. Our many years of water fowling experience enable us to provide you with a memorable and unique experience hunting these beautiful birds in a forbidding environment. Hunters can take Eiders, Long tails, and Scoters in the same day. From October through January we hunt these unique sea ducks that gather in large numbers along our rocky coastline. This provides a challenging and exciting water fowling experience for those who are equipped to pursue them. Gunning these sea ducks fulfill any water fowlers need for a new and different hunting experience. On multiple day hunts we employ a variety of sea duck hunting methods. One day we may hunt sea ducks from one-man layout boats, on another, from ledges and on another from our tender boat. All three methods have proven to be rewarding and successful, providing abundant opportunities at these trophy sea ducks. Thornehead Guide & Travel Inc. is located in Bath, Maine near Freeport, home of L.L. Bean and just 30 minutes from Portland International Jetport or approximately 130 miles from Boston's Logan airport.
